3D Table in SolidWorks

  1. Sketch the Table Top:
    • Start a new part file.
    • Create a 2D sketch on the top plane.
    • Use the Rectangle tool to draw the table’s top surface.
    • Add dimensions to define the table’s size.
  2. Extrude the Table Top:
    • Exit the sketch.
    • Use the Extrude feature to give thickness to the table top.
    • Specify the desired thickness.
  3. Sketch the Table Legs:
    • Create a new 2D sketch on one of the table edges.
    • Use lines and rectangles to sketch the legs.
    • Add dimensions to control the leg height and width.
  4. Extrude the Legs:
    • Exit the sketch.
    • Use the Extrude feature again to create the legs.
    • Specify the leg height.
  5. Fillet Edges:
    • Add fillets to the edges where the legs meet the table top.
    • Fillets provide a smooth transition.
  6. Add Details:
    • If desired, add additional features like chamfers or decorative elements.
    • You can also create a shelf or storage space underneath the table.
  7. Save and Create a Drawing:
    • Save your part file.
    • Create a new drawing file.
    • Insert the 3D model view into the drawing.
    • Add dimensions, annotations, and any other necessary details.
